Les tringles des sistres tintaient music by Georges Bizet, lyrics by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy I have made two versions of this aria (one for women's choir and the other for mixed choir). The only difference is the key (E minor for women's choir, C minor for mixed choir). If you want to shorten this song, you can skip all the "la la la's" in the beginning, and start direcly at bar #47. To make it even shorter, end it with the "scream" of the sopranos in bar #99 (#100). Observe that the melody moves between the different voice parts; the melody should always be accentuated even if it's not in the highest voice part (this is particularly important in the "la la la" part of bars #1 - #46). In this song, I wanted to introduce some "raw" sound because of the setting in the opera (a tavern, probably rather sleazy, frequented by thieves, smugglers, murderers, and prostitutes).
